NASCAR Clips Its Wings
Since the modern era of NASCAR racing the spoiler has been an essential part of stock car racing as a device to enhance downforce during race conditions. Down force is needed to keep the racing vehicle planted firmly on the asphalt. The spoiler brings more down force and helps with the overall balance of the car. With the introduction of the COT the spoiler was replaced with a state of the art wing. The COT was tested at Daytona International Speedway on March 12, 2006.
